saving grace

...from plastic coffee on the national rail...and why do they only give you 2 mini cartons of milk per cup eh?

They had always been friends for as long as they could remember. Marcel gazed into her eyes and saw only blankness, perhaps brief flickers of distant recognition. Their minds had grown old together as they reached out for words...but they had forgotten how to use language. Things seemed fractured now as the train entered Kings Cross station. EXISTENCE was broken at Euston and then to Piccadilly and a taste of metal lingering in the air. Next, a change at Paddington and then onto a suburb and then California and then nowhere. Then a cat walked down the road and told the butcher that his time will come, and d'ya know summit? He was the same as all the other butchers, and the ones after that one.

'hmmm...things ain't what they used to be you know. In my day there used to be real sand! I mean, I don't know why the went digital. You see, things really were different back in the day.

Right, you see that little figure over there? Not me mind, I'm the one wearing the pink jumper. Nope I mean that small dot on the horizon? It is supposed to represent a person! Honest, that ain't no word of a lie! Well that is my mother. I've never come face to face with her, she just seems to stand there staring at me. I wish that I could make out her face, if only for a brief moment, that would be really lovely,

Anyway, I'm going to exist here for a while until I get deleted...might even try a spot of pixel bathing...'

A walk

Mr no one was walking around his village. The rain was beating down and he stopped under a tree. He looked at the shadow that it cast on the ground and saw the map of his future. He looked closely at the shadow and said 'are you an object?' The rain continued to beat down. It didn't get faster for the emphasis of this tale.

Mr no one was in the future now. She lifted its head and moved through to the next part of the story. I'm about more than a one person. You are plural and I am's rural. He got out of the wagon and cried 'those goddamn ponies are really beginning scare the living hell out of me man!'

... and then the New Year brings us the keep fit season. The time of wheezing and central chest pain. 'I've lost a stone in 2 weeks' soon becomes...'well we could go for the pizza tonight...just tonight mind...'
